A subsidy of €1,618,731 is approved for entities that develop food guarantee programs

The Governing Council of the Balearic Islands has approved authorizing the Minister of Families and Social Affairs to allocate 1,618,731 euros to subsidies for non-profit entities that develop food guarantee programs with a tax allocation of 0.7 % of personal income tax and corporate tax for 2023. The actions must be carried out during the years 2023, 2024 and 2025.

The call is aimed at non-profit organizations that develop projects to cover the basic needs of people and families in a situation of economic precariousness in order to reduce situations of vulnerability or social exclusion. These entities are mostly staffed by volunteers and are mainly financed by private donations and subsidies from public administrations. They therefore have little financial capacity and it is necessary to advance them the full amount of the subsidies.
