Antoni Vera has recalled that the new CIFP in Ciutadella will offer eight training cycles in the Hospitality and Tourism families and will incorporate the area of ??Food Industries to meet the growing demand for vocational training in Menorca. It is planned that the centre will teach the basic degrees of Baking and Pastry, Cooking and Restaurant activities; the intermediate degrees of Restaurant Services, Cooking and Gastronomy, Baking, Pastry and Confectionery, and the higher degrees of Kitchen Management, Management of Tourist Accommodations, Guide, Information and Tourist Assistance.
Built in 1966, as a warehouse for wholesale products, under the name of INFRIME, the Ciutadella maritime station has 1,982.34 m² distributed over three floors. The project plans to place the administrative spaces, classrooms and smaller workshops on the second floor, while the first floor will house the cooking and restaurant workshops. The ground floor will not be used for educational purposes.
With the construction of the new CIFP in Ciutadella, the Government of the Balearic Islands is making a decisive commitment to promoting and consolidating Vocational Training studies in Menorca. This initiative responds to the growing demand for qualified professionals in strategic sectors such as Hospitality, Tourism and the Food Industry. The new centre will not only expand its training offer, but will also provide students with modern and appropriate infrastructure to acquire the practical skills necessary for their entry into the labour market.
