Beekeeping is a specialization of animal husbandry that consists in the breeding of the bee Apis mellifera by man in order to exploit the products of the hive. The beekeeper must provide the swarm of bees with a shelter, take care of it: supplementary feeding, disease control, be careful with pesticides, artificial fertilization of queens, etc. A part of the honey they produce is collected, making sure that they do not lack it to get through the winter.

The most traditional products collected from bees were honey and wax.

Propolis, already used in ancient Egypt, has become very common and with new applications in relatively few years.

The same can be said for royal jelly or fresh pollen, collected before the bees enter the hive and process it.

Menorca honey stands out for its quality and delicacy. The varied venturera flora in the field and the influence of the sea and the salinity of the island environment give it quite particular organoleptic characteristics.
