Celler Sa Premsa, a classic in Palma since 1958

There are many men and women from Menorca who, when they have gone to spend a few days in Palma, have chosen Celler Sa Premsa for lunch or dinner of its specialties in Mallorcan cuisine.

The beginnings of Celler Sa Premsa go back to the month of May 1958 when Antonio Mayol, a trained banker, decided to turn an old warehouse in the center of Palma into a cozy restaurant. With no knowledge of restaurants or hotels, he decided to create a space where whoever wanted to, could enjoy Mallorcan cuisine regardless of their origin, tastes or concerns.

Word of mouth during the first years led to the success of the restaurant and led many Majorcans to stop at Celler Sa Premsa. A tradition that was also passed on to the island’s tourists, making tasting a meal at Celler Sa Premsa a must for both locals and visitors.

More than half a century later, Antonio’s dream is still a reality and the restaurant a mandatory stop. In the hands of the third family generation, it has not lost its essence: price, quality and service. The formula for success since its inception.

The cuisine of Celler Sa Premsa is distinguished by the flavors of traditional Mallorcan cuisine. Tongue with capers, Majorcan soups, stuffed aubergines, brut rice, almond cake with almond ice cream and a long etc., are some of the specialties of the house.

Dishes cooked over a slow fire and with lots of love, as mothers and godmothers do. The usual food, like at home, but in the center of the city of Palma. A space both for lovers of Mallorcan cuisine and for those who want to discover its gastronomy.
