Thanks to Vinum Menorca this week we recommend a cava that you will surely like for these holidays and that belongs to the renowned Codorniu wineries. This is the Cuvée Original, which is a tribute to the first cava made by Josep Raventós in 1872. It is an organic and vegan Brut with the traditional blend of Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada.

Tasting note

View: Pale yellow with very fine and persistent bubbles. White crown in the center of the glass.

Nose: Fruity aromas such as those of Granny Smith apple stand out, as well as floral and sweet notes of fresh almond.

Mouth: Balanced, fresh, creamy and with a long memory.

It is the ideal cava to highlight the natural flavors of healthy and lightly seasoned cuisine, where the product will be its protagonist. It also pairs with woks, papillotes, grilled vegetables, grilled or steamed fish and white meats, without leaving aside roasts and Christmas cuisine.

Accompanies steamed or grilled mussels, cockles and clams. Also grilled razor clams, boiled sea snails or grilled prawns or crayfish.

If you opt for papillotes, we can try one of hake loins with vegetables, or sole fillets with zucchini and red peppers, as well as salted fish such as sea bass and sea bream.
