Thanks to Vinum Menorca this week we recommend a Galician red wine from the DO Monterrei. This is the Ladairo Family Collection 2021, which is vinified in Oimbra, Ourense, by Bodegas Ladairo with a blend of Mencía and Araúxa (Tempranillo) that makes it unique and that will go wonderfully for autumn dishes.
View: Clear and bright with a medium layer and purple-red color.
Nose: Good aromatic intensity, with aromas of red forest fruits and subtle exotic notes.
Palate: Well structured, with the characteristic taste of Mencias and with its entire aromatic palette.
Galician cuisine, grilled meats, baked meats, autumn dishes, cod and white meats.
It is the ideal wine to accompany meat dishes from Galician cuisine such as pork shoulder with turnip greens, Galician tripe, zorza, loin empanada or others such as Betanzos-style potato omelette and Galician-style octopus.
It pairs perfectly with grilled red meats, such as the Galician blonde steak from Es Molí des Comte, as well as our grilled Menorca red cow. It is also ideal for grilled lamb ribs or grilled rabbit with garlic and oil.
Baked suckling pig or lamb, as well as autumn dishes such as meat with chanterelles, beef tongue with chanterelles, brut rice (meat and spice broth), mushrooms with sobrasada.
Due to its aroma and good drinkability, it will go well with dishes in which cod is the protagonist. Cod a la llauna, cod with leeks, cod gratin with quince all i oli, fried cod accompanied by baked red peppers…
Rabbit with onions, baked chicken, turkey with prunes and raisins, as well as autumn rice dishes such as loin with mushrooms.
