Menorca wins 10 medals at the World Cheese Award

Cheeses with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Mahón-Menorca have won up to 10 medals at the International World Cheese Award 2024-25 Competition, held in Portugal.

Of the 10 awards, three have been for Mahón-Menorca PDO cheeses and another seven for artisanal cheeses with PDO from Menorca. Of the 10 medals, seven have been bronze, two silver and one super gold.

The World Cheese Award is a worldwide competition that brings together judges from all territories who evaluate more than 4,000 types of cheeses from forty countries.

The Menorca cheeses that have been awarded are:

• Torralba cured cheese. Super gold
• Quintana semi-cured cheese. Silver
• Son Vives cured cheese. Silver
• Coinga soft cheese. Bronze
• Coinga semi-cured cheese. Bronze
• Coinga cured cheese. Bronze
• Quintana cured cheese. Bronze
• Subaida cured cheese. Bronze
• Subaida aged cheese. Bronze
• Son Piris cured cheese. Bronze
