Morell is committed to organic almonds

The Morell estate, managed by Jean Michel Cayla, has committed to recovering almond production in Menorca, and making it organic.

Menorca once had its almond groves, which were gradually abandoned due to the change in model that gave priority to livestock and fodder over products from the orchard or the almond groves and olive groves themselves.

The almond trees remained almost symbolically on the estates and orchards, with almond production for their own consumption, and those that come to us from Mallorca or Turkey or other distant places were introduced.

In Mallorca, the planting of almond groves was the alternative to the vineyard, after it practically disappeared due to phylloxera and produces one of the best almonds in the country, something that according to Cayla can also be done in Menorca.
