Superstitions of women and their moon cycle

When it came to slaughtering the pig in Menorca, it was very important that the women did not have their periods, because according to what they said they ruined everything they touched, especially the things that were raw: sobrasadas, sausages… With this topic, in the peasantry was quite rigid.

Women in that lunar state, when they had menstruation, could not plant beans or certain flowers either, because they grew poorly or died.

It is also said that a woman who has a moon, her period, will not be able to emulsify a mayonnaise sauce, not even with the blender and even less with the mortar, and that due to body temperature it will be cut and will never emulsify.
