The 2025 Menorca Country Fair opens its doors with a record number of participants and visitors

This morning, at 10 am, the Alaior Country Fair opened its doors with the start of the XXXVII Friesian Cattle Morphological Competition. At 11 am, the mayor of Alaior, José Luis Benejam, together with the president of the Menorca Island Council, Adolfo Vilafranca, officially inaugurated the fair, highlighting the support for all the people in the countryside and recalling the actions carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of the Balearic Islands to strengthen the Menorcan primary sector. The event was attended by the councilors of the City Council, as well as numerous local, regional and state authorities.

The day continued with musical performances in the leisure area, the second part of the Morphological Competition and the grazing exhibition with Border Collies. The first day's report was very positive, with a large influx of visitors throughout Saturday morning, who visited the 106 participating exhibitors, a figure higher than in any previous edition.

One of the most outstanding aspects of this year was the presence, for the first time, of an international judge in the Morphological Competition, as well as the president of the National Confederation of Spanish Frisian Associations (CONAFE), consolidating the importance of the fair at a national level. In addition, the organizers were congratulated for their work in this fair and for the great quality of the participating animals, belonging to 31 farms.

We remind you that tomorrow the fair will open again at 10 am with an agenda full of activities, leisure and prizes. You can consult the program on the website of the Alaior City Council (www.alaior.org) or on the City Council's social networks. Tomorrow will be the competition for future promises, the parade of honor and the awarding of trophies. It is also worth noting that the Alaior City Council has made a free train service available to visit the town and has offered free admission to LÔAC, Alaior Art Contemporani throughout the weekend.

Finally, the Alaior City Council would like to thank the involvement of all municipal workers, the Balearic Frisian Association, the farmers, and all the collaborators and exhibitors who have made this XXXVII edition of the Fira del Camp de Menorca possible.
