The XXVII Albariño Wine Festival D.O. Rías Baixas, in collaboration with the Hon. Cambados Town Hall, will take place next April 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Nautical Restaurant of the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

The Rías Baixas Designation of Origin covers the province of Pontevedra and a small part of A Coruña and is divided into five subzones: Val do Salnés (Cambados), O Rosal, Ribeira do Ulla, Condado do Tea and Soutomaior. This year, nearly fifty wineries from these five subzones are collaborating in the event with more than 70 references.

Characteristic of Rías Baixas wines is their straw yellow color, floral and fruity aromas, of medium and powerful intensity; its freshness and softness, its balanced acidity and broad nuances in the mouth, so typical of that Atlantic climate that characterizes the Galician Rías Baixas.

Galician legends say that it was the monks who brought the strains of white grapes that they knew and that they cultivated them in the Salnés Valley…. Others say that they were the legions of Augustus… the truth is that Albariño wine, the most important white in the Christian world, was born from these grapes.

Once again, other brands of high-quality products collaborate in the event, such as Embutidos Entrepeñas from Geras de Gordón (León), Porco Celta products from Casa Hermelino from O Valadouro (Lugo), Faba from Lourenzá (Lugo) and participation of the “Pulpeiro Mayor del Reino”.
As a novelty, this year, the El Náutico restaurant in Palma will offer a series of traditional Galician cuisine sessions on April 18, 19 and 20 at noon directed by Gabriel Bea, renowned chef for his career at the Gran Hotel La Toja, and for the pulpeiro José Manuel Rodríguez.
This non-profit festival has contributed to making our good Albariño wine known in the Balearic Islands where it is introduced in most hotels, restaurants and hospitality in general.
Thank you for your presence and kind collaboration in this Albariño Festival, the best and oldest celebrated outside of Galicia.
