The annual awards given by the Association of Gastronomic Journalists and Writers of the Balearic Islands (APEGIB) will be presented in Menorca on September 21 and 22 as part of Arrels, the local product and Menorcan cuisine fair that will be held at the Recinte Feral des Mercadal, and which have the support of the shipping company Balearia, the Menorca Foment Turisme Foundation and the Menorca Council.
In this year's edition, Menorca's Gastronomic Awards will be presented in Menorca, as well as those in Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

Restaurant revelation: Vermell, from the Vestige Son Vell rural hotel. (Citadel).
Confectioner/Pastry Chef of the Year: Juan Carlos García, ice cream maker, La Fàbrica de Farry. (It's Mercadal.
Best chef: Víctor Torrent Vivó, Pinzell Restaurant (Ciutadella).
Professional career: El Paladar, with stores in Menorca, Mallorca and Evissa.
Promotion of local products: Vicent Vila, retired cook, Es Molí de Foc (Sant Climent, Mahon).
Best gastrobar: Calucha (Maó).
Best Menorcan cuisine restaurant, Ramon Cavaller Award: Sa Fonda (Fornells).
