The Balearic Government approves the call for participation in the Balearic Islands Day market 2025

By means of the Resolution of the Conseller of the Presidency and Public Administrations, the call for participation and the selection criteria for participants in the Balearic Islands Day market 2025 have been approved. This Resolution has been published today in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) and the deadline for submitting applications ends on December 18, 2024.

The call is aimed at people who want to participate in the Balearic Islands Day market and who meet the requirements established in one of the following modalities:

Modality A: artisans from the Balearic Islands with a craftsman's certificate.

Modality B: artisans from the Balearic Islands without an artisan's charter.

Modality C: non-artisan sellers from the Balearic Islands.

Modality D: artisans with an artisan's charter from other regions of Spain or the European Union.

Balearic Islands Day will be celebrated on February 28, 2025 and March 1 and 2, 2025. Among the activities organized by the Government, it has been planned to carry out, as every year, a Balearic Islands market in Palma, with the aim of being the showcase for the most identifying products, traditions and cultural elements of the Islands. This market is an activity that has been consolidated and has become a fundamental and expected part of the commemoration of Balearic Islands Day.

The objective of the Balearic Islands Day market is to promote the traditions, products and knowledge of the characteristic facts of each of the island territories of the autonomous community. Likewise, the objective is to promote the exhibition and sale of local artisanal products, in order to highlight the creativity and artisanal tradition of the Balearic Islands, provide a platform for local artisans to present their work to the public and promote cultural and commercial exchange within the scope of the fair.

The market will be a showcase of agri-food, artisanal and traditional products representative of the Balearic Islands, and will include the representation of all the islands, with the products and elements that characterize them. However, it may include a representation of productions from other regions of the Spanish State, Europe, other Mediterranean islands or from around the world, under the terms indicated in the call.

As a main novelty, participation in the market will be completely free.
