This Friday the "Berenar Pagès" Gastronomic Days begin, a new culinary proposal that invites tourists and residents to rediscover the charm of traditional Menorcan breakfasts. During this weekend, from Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December, five local establishments will offer this unique experience that combines local products, creativity and tradition.
The participants in this first edition are:
- Bar Squash (Ferreries)
- Hotel Jeni & Restaurante (Es Mercadal)
- OhLaLa (Maó)
- Mesón Rías Baixas (Ferreries)
- Jaume II (Ciutadella)
These gastronomic days propose a new way of enjoying breakfast, with a wide variety of options that include emblematic products of the island. Visitors will be able to taste sandwiches with traditional sausages such as sobrasada, camot/cuixot or butifarrons, cheese with the Mahón-Menorca Designation of Origin, toast with tomato and Menorcan oil, salty cocas and typical tapas from matanzas. For those with a sweet tooth, there will be no shortage of “mosset dolç”, with ensaimades, crespells, pastissets and carquinyols, accompanied by a cup of chocolate or coffee.
Although five establishments are participating in this edition, these days represent a firm commitment to creating an event with continuity, with the aim of consolidating it as a benchmark within the Menorcan gastronomic calendar. The initiative also seeks to strengthen the link between gastronomy and local products, supporting the island's producers and promoting the consumption of zero-kilometre foods.
The Association of Cafeterias, Bars and Restaurants of Menorca, organizer of the event, thanks the establishments for their participation and encourages everyone, both residents and visitors, to enjoy the "Berenar Pagès" this weekend.
This action has the collaboration of the Fundació Foment de Turisme de Menorca.
