The Gorgonzola, a burger made with Menorca beef supplied by Biniatzem Productes de la Terra, accompanied by Italian blue cheese, chipotle mayonnaise, caramelized onion and bricoche bread with poppy seeds, has made it the winner of the competition in which other establishments on the island have participated, such as Bar Can Miquel, in Maó, which achieved second place with the “Talaiòtica” burger or S’Olivera Tapas Surf Burger, in Sant Lluís, which came in third with the “El Pato” burger.

As Pedro Capó, son of the founders of The Blarney Stone, explains, “Last year the organizers of this contest contacted us through Instagram and presented us with the rules and requirements. We accepted and chose a burger from our menu that we wanted to submit to the "La Gorgonzola" contest. We then contacted them so that the jury could come and taste it (in June or so). At this meeting, they gave us cards with a QR code so that customers could vote and give their opinion. This card was given to whoever ordered the Gorgonzola burger, which is the one participating. They also gave us posters to give visibility to our participation in the contest. At the end of the season, Toni Juaneda came as their representative to do a second and final tasting of the burger as a jury member. And last week they told us that we had won the Menorca edition.”
