The Association of Cafeterias, Bars and Restaurants of Menorca is launching the "Berenar Pagès" (Farmers Breakfast) Gastronomic Events, an event designed so that more catering establishments can join in, since, on this occasion, it is not about lunch or dinner menus, but rather a morning experience. The aim is to offer both tourists and residents an innovative and relaxed activity that invites families and friends to enjoy an authentic country breakfast.
This breakfast, with deep Menorcan roots, seeks to promote the consumption of local products and support the island's agri-food industry. Participants will be able to delight in a wide variety of proposals made with typical ingredients of Menorcan gastronomy and linked to the Menorcan countryside. The options include sandwiches with traditional sausages such as sobrasada, camot/cuixot, carn-i-xulla, black or white butifarrons, as well as the unmistakable cheese with the Mahón-Menorca Designation of Origin, accompanied by other locally produced sheep or goat cheeses. There will also be no shortage of toast with tomato and Menorcan oil, or traditional tapas of matanzas and cocas. The combinations are endless.
For those with a sweet tooth, the "mosset dolç" will also be present, with proposals such as crespells, pastissets, carquinyols, all of which can be accompanied by a cup of hot chocolate with coca bamba or ensaimada. These are just some of the products that can be tasted in the participating cafes, bars and restaurants.
The "Berenar Pagès" will be held for three consecutive days: Friday 29, Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December.
The registration period for interested establishments is open from today, and a few days before the event the list of participating establishments will be published.
The "Berenar Pagès" Gastronomic Days are added to the calendar of gastronomic events that this association organizes outside the tourist season, with six events already established: the "Jornades Gastronòmiques de Sa Perdiu", "Jornades Gastronòmiques de Peix", "Menorca en el Plat", "Jornades Gastronòmiques de Sa Vedella Vermella Menorquina", and "Els Dimecres es Dia de Brou". They all share the objective of promoting Menorcan gastronomy and local products.
This calendar is part of the collaboration agreement with the Fundació Foment del Turisme de Menorca and has the support of PIME Menorca.
