Miriam Triay/Photos: Toni Ocaña - The Gastro-Bar Club is the new initiative carried out by Kiko Muñoz and Pepe Moreno. Which, have decided to extend their gourmet adventure to another path, to another destination, by supporting the club.

GIVE A SECOND LIFE
It has been almost a year since the friends and partners, Muñoz and Moreno, realized that the bar/restaurant of the Cala en Blanes tennis club had lost its light. That it was no longer that space where, in another era, people went to rest after a match day, or to have lunch on any Sunday. And they proposed that, in case this establishment was neglected, they would become part of it, as a new initiative, a new project.

And it was said and done, as we say here. After a while the space became available, and both bet on it. They named it El Club Gastro-Bar, and began to remodel it, with the intention of giving it a second life. This happened in December, and since then, they have not stopped remodeling and growing, learning from and with the space. And they want it to stay that way.

"We do not intend to change the purpose of this space, nor do we seek to make it a super restaurant, but we did want, from the very beginning, to offer quality to the people who want to come, a space to be and enjoy a gastronomic experience. And that over time it ends up being what it was, a place where people can go whenever they want, whether they are partners or not, tennis lovers or not," says Muñoz.

Without great aspirations, as they say themselves, but with very clear goals. Relive a space, an era, and a feeling. That people can return to this sports club in Cala'n Blanes, for lunch and/or dinner. To organize large lunches, up to groups of more than 100 people, or simply to go for a bite to eat with family or friends. To spend some time Or to take the meal away after a day of intense sport. That any conceivable gastronomic situation has a place. Within space and its limitations.

STEEP BY STEEP


Thus, with clear ideas and objectives, Muñoz and Moreno have been growing the space, steep by steep and with good results. "We want to grow slowly, without running. That all the ideas we have find a place there, and that, as I say, it ends up being the welcome space for many. That the people who come will want to repeat. That's enough for us".

With a key makeover, which also included the modification of the signs that indicated the direction of the space, "since they were blurred and unreadable", and with the desire to return to an essence that seemed forgotten, the Club Gastro-Bar has opened its doors to everyone, and plans to continue expanding this opening. At the moment, in winter, they are only open at sunset, and their idea is to be able to open all day, offering lunch and dinner every day. And in summer, the current season, what they wanted to enhance was the terrace.

A COMPLETE OFFER


The experience, then, is gourmet. Of quality With product from here, but also from outside. That can answer the most demanding palates. But, aware of where they are and the service that is in demand there, they also offer cakes and snacks. Therefore, when the customer accesses the site, he receives a very varied offer, being able to enjoy the gastronomic experience he most desires.

The menu navigates from appetizers and tapas, both seafood and land; passing through quality hamburgers; to the usual or special dishes. All with fresh and quality products, from its renowned project, 'El Paladar', to make it known in these spaces as well.

As they have already said "we want everyone to have a place", and this is demonstrated by this very diverse selection, and the different remodelings that have been done there. To be able to offer a gastronomic space, for lunches and dinners, for large and small groups, for a plate or to share, that can be within everyone's reach.
