The Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB) offers proposals for Christmas menus in Catalan in the restaurant sector

With the Christmas celebrations approaching, the Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB) is launching the campaign "Christmas menus, also in Catalan", with the aim of promoting the use of Catalan in restaurant establishments in the Balearic Islands. For this reason, it has developed a material with specific menu proposals, accompanied by a series of specific vocabulary cards, which will serve as an aid to restaurateurs who want to have their festive menus in Catalan, which is a sign of quality of service and customer service.

The IEB has sent this material to the heads of the different associations and business entities so that they can distribute it among their associates, specifically in the restaurant sector. Among these entities, we can highlight the CAEB, PIMEM, PYME Menorca and PYME de Eivissa and Formentera, as well as the town councils and island councils.

In addition to the menus and information sheets, the IEB offers a completely free linguistic consultation and menu translation service via the email picat@iebalearics.org.

The material for the "Christmas menus, also in Catalan" campaign is available on the social networks of the Catalan Use Promotion Service, through the account @baulesdellengua, as well as on the website http://www. moulallengua.cat.

The director of the IEB, Llorenç Perelló, is convinced that "this campaign will be well received and that what it offers will be useful for those responsible for catering establishments."
