The Insular Council grants 20,000 euros to the Balearic Frisian Association to carry out the National School of Livestock Judges 2025

The Department of Economy and General Services of the Insular Council of Menorca has signed a collaboration agreement with the Balearic Frisian Association to support the holding of the 42nd Edition of the National School of Livestock Judges on March 17, 18 and 19, 2025. The department will contribute to this agreement with a maximum total contribution of 20,000 euros.

The 42nd Edition of the National School of Livestock Judges, which is being held in Menorca, is organized by the National Confederation of Frisian Associations of Spain (CONAFE), with the collaboration of the Balearic Frisian Association. A significant number of livestock farmers and technicians are expected to attend, coming from different parts of the Islands and other autonomous communities.

The objective of this school is, on the one hand, to train livestock judges from among the livestock farmers themselves, true judges capable of acting in the competitions and events that are carried out, and on the other, to provide morphological knowledge about the animal, which will allow improving the level of the herd, correcting defects or enhancing the virtues of the animals through better use of the genetic material, which will guarantee higher quality offspring.

The practical program of the school will be complemented with talks on morphology and judging the breed, as well as sessions in which it will be taught to value the descriptive traits of the animals.
