The melons from La Vall, or from the Algaiarens estate, have always been very famous in the area of ??Ciutadella and in the past there were many people who rented a portion of land on the estate of the Marquises of Menas Albas to sow summer crops there.

The land where the melons of La Vall are grown, also the watermelons, was a reservoir that was drained by the English in the 18th century, but which retains moisture in the lower part, which means that these products of the summer haven't been to water and, in addition, they are exquisitely sweet.

The new owners of the Algaiarens place have taken out a label to name these ecological and organic melons.
